The Vallone Family

As far back as memory and written records can tell, the history of the Vallone Family has always been intertwined with that of wine, just as the vine intertwines with wood.

A story intertwined with the vine

Entire generations of the Vallone family have dedicated their time, lives, and passion to the vineyards and their fruits. Stefano Vallone, just like his father Vito and his great-grandfather before him.

A precious land

In the 1980s, Vito Vallone and his son Stefano discovered the unique qualities hidden beneath the rocky appearance of the Valso and San Nicola districts, along with their ancient village of Permenino in the Alcamo area.

This land possessed such precious components that it deserved special care: they purchased the land, reclaimed it by clearing the rocky skeleton, and began producing delicious wine grapes, exclusively for cooperative wineries.

A fresh breeze

A few decades later, Stefano Vallone passed on the family mission to his sons Gabriele, Vito, and Fabio, who proved decisive in transforming production: the Vallone family wine was born, and with it, Tenute Valso.

A fresh breeze brought new varieties and insights to the Tenute Valso territories: Nero D’Avola, Grillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Perricone, Zibibbo, and Syrah, in addition, of course, to the classic and timeless Catarratto, an indigenous grape variety, the heart of the company, used to produce Alcamo DOC.

Today, taking the reins from their father, Gabriele handles the technical-oenological activities within the company, and his brother Fabio has taken charge of the agronomic operations.
